Requirements
We recommend a minimum of one-year riding experience and being competent in use of all motorcycle controls. For those with less than one-year riding experience we suggest contacting the Motorcycle Safety Foundation at 800.446.9227 or www.msf-usa.org to find a Basic Rider Course (BRC) closest to you.
Rider Gear Requirements
- Full-face helmet with Snell 2005 rating or better
- Flip-face/modular helmets are not permitted
- One or two-piece leathers (two piece leathers must have a full circumference zipper)
- Heavy Duty Cordura Nylon-type riding suits are acceptable, with reinforced and padded shoulders, elbows, hips and knee areas (Aerostitch or similar)
- Leather gloves, gauntlet style with adjustable wrist closure
- Riding boots, racing or touring style with full ankle coverage
Personal Motorcycle Requirements
- All personal bikes will be required to go through technical inspection
- Bikes must have safety wired drain plugs and filters
- Water only in radiator, (no antifreeze) Motul MoCool/WaterWetter®/EngineIce or similar is approved
- Head lamp, tail lamp and turn signals must be taped over
- Tape over or remove mirrors
- Tape over speedometer
- Wheel weights must be taped
- License plate must be taped or removed
- Engine kill switch (Accessible without removing hands from handgrips)
- New or near-new (90% tread depth or better) tires are required
